Malaysia: Remand extension for 4, the Sabah Water Department corruption scandal continues

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has obtained remand extension on four individuals to facilitate the on-going probe into the Sabah Water Department’s corruption scandal.
An engineer and two assistant engineers attached to the Tawau district water department and the engineer from the Lahad Datu district water department will be remanded for another five days, beginning today.
They were among 19 individuals arrested on Wednesday during the MACC phase two operation, which focused on 27 locations across the state.
MACC deputy chief commissioner (operation) Datuk Azam Baki confirmed the arrest but declined to elaborate.
