Presidential spokesman Johan Budi said on Friday that President Joko “Jokowi” had expressed his concern about the arrest of Constitutional Court justice Patrialis Akbar for allegedly accepting bribes.
“Jokowi is very concerned as the Constitutional Court is the final stronghold of the Constitution, in relation to the law. This is the second [arrest],” Johan said at the Presidential Palace.
Jokowi’s concern, he said, related to continued corrupt practices despite the government’s efforts to eradicate corruption.
Johan said the President supported the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in its efforts to prevent and eradicate graft.
